We’re Over The Moon To Be Back!

on October 22, 2023

After six months of closure due to an extensive fire in the restaurant, we’re over the moon to let you know that we’ll be officially reopening our doors on Friday 27th October.⠀

Thank you to everyone who has supported us since we’ve been closed; we can’t wait to see you, and welcome you back to our West Malling restaurant for delicious dishes, including our newly created tasting menu, celebrating the very best seasonal produce, with excellent wine pairings to match.⠀

You’ll find the St. Leonard’s bar and restaurant in West Malling, a bustling market town, in Kent. Open Wednesday to Sunday St. Leonard’s offers modern seasonal a la carte dining, a well curated wine-list and classic cocktails.

Our set lunch menu is a fine way to enjoy a leisurely lunch with family and friends, at a set per person price offering two courses for £25 or three course for £28. Our restaurant set lunch menu is available Wednesday to Friday alongside our restaurant a la carte and tasting menu.

On a Wednesday evening we offer a special steak night set menu, where you’ll find the best steak in Kent. Our Scottish dry-aged 9oz sirloin steak is served with onion rings, watercress and a peppercorn sauce for £35 including a snack to start and a tasty side dish. Our restaurant a la carte menu and tasting menu is also available on a Wednesday evening.

Start your weekend off with our relaxed brunch menu, our delicious breakfast menu features brunch classics including fluffy buttermilk pancakes, hot smoked salmon, a croque madame, our signature full English and fresh coffee. Our weekend restaurant brunch menu is served from 9am every Saturday and Sunday.

There is no finer meal to indulge with family and friends than at Sunday lunch, and our restaurant Sunday roast is one of the best in Kent. Our set Sunday lunch menu includes delicious seasonal starters, vegetarian and fish main course options, classics roasts and tempting desserts. Our Sunday roasts includes a roast Kent chicken breast, roast Scottish sirloin and a 24-hour hay baked venison shoulder. No Sunday roast would be complete without tasty trimmings including beef dripping roast potatoes and epic Yorkshire puddings.

We take great care in curating a balanced and interesting wine list, and for us that must include award-winning English sparkling wines such as those from the Balfour Hush Heath Estate here in Kent, Chapel Down, Rathfinny and Nyetimber. Our spirits list champions interesting producers too including a first batch George Bishop gin from Maidstone Distillery.

St. Leonard’s, with its bar, restaurant and private dining, is in the very heart of bustling West Malling on Swan Street, where you’ll find charming independent shops, florists, gift shops, and coffee shops to browse. West Malling Farmers Market is not to be missed and is usually held on the 4th Sunday of each month and showcases great local Kent produce.

St. Leonard’s is available for whole site hire, ideal for private parties, corporate events, Christmas parties and family celebrations. Please contact us for more details.

Our bar and restaurant are located on Swan Street and are just a few minutes’ walk from West Malling station, with a train journey of less than an hour from central London. West Malling is no more than 30 minutes’ drive from other Kent towns including Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells. So, if you are after a great restaurant serving season British produce, a la carte menus, tasting menus, fine wines, cocktails, weekend brunch and Sunday roasts then we are easy to find. Please visit our website to find out more about our bar and restaurant and to make a reservation.
